We offer a comprehensive range of galvanised steel resilient bars which provide an improved acoustic performance between floors when fixed to the underside of timber joists. Resilient bars are a thin vibration absorbing steel channel that can be used on timber studs for walls and timber joists for ceilings. Resilient bar systems help to reduce noise and soundproof a ceiling and are essential for helping to bring suspending timber floors into compliance with the Part E building regulations requirements for noise control.

Our resilient bars are available in 3000mm lengths and should be fixed at 400mm centres depending on the specifics of the plasterboard. They are designed to be used where a RSD installation is specified and are tested to perform in excess of the standards required.

Mild steel resilient bars or soundbreaker bars work by decoupling the suspending ceiling or wall from the joists or batons. The new ceiling or partition is in effect floating allowing the sound to be absorbed as it travels through the corrugated flange of the bar.
