OUR HISTORY

The roots of ADA Fastfix can be traced back to 1965 when it was an Engineering and Toolmaking business based in Uxbridge, Middlesex, with premises also in Park Royal London. ADA Toolmaking manufactured for Kodak, Martin Baker, Rolls Royce and Gillette UK to name but a few.

The business was established by Fred Alford, Reg Delamare, and Dave Albone. The current owner of ADA Fastfix, Andrew David Alford who is the son of Fred Alford, worked for the business aged 16 – 25 as a toolmaker and subsequently started SOS Fasteners alongside ADA Toolmaking.

ADA Toolmaking ceased trading in the early ’90s, and a new company was formed called ADA & SOS supplying fixings and fasteners. The company ceased trading to rebrand under a new name. ADA Fastfix was born.

  • 2002 ADA Fastfix was formed. The company moved to new premises in High Wycombe in 2003 and grew from 7 people to a team of around 15 people. The range of products grew with a focus on drylining and interior fit-out.
  • 2006 the company acquired a second unit next door due to year on year growth, the first company truck was purchased, and the fleet grew.
  • 2006 the company continued to grow and a new relationship with Richter System a major manufacturer of drylining sections was formed, a larger warehouse unit was shortly on the cards.
  • 2009 ADA Fastfix took over a large warehouse unit close to our offices, this allowed the company to stock a wider variety and larger quantities of products for our customers. We soon realised that we required more staff and more vehicles to cope with growth.
  • 2015 It was time to move again to larger premises which we found at Lancaster Road where we are still based today. As our history had shown it wasn’t long before we required more space for our ever-increasing range of products.
  • 2016 We acquired a second storage unit almost next door, somewhat squeezing Screwfix, our new neighbours.
  • 2018 Alan Todhunter who joined the company in 1995 is appointed as Managing Director.
  • 2019 the company is awarded one of Britain's most inspiring companies by the London Stock Exchange
  • 2020 the company has consistently reached YOY growth and has 80+ employees to date. It has a fleet of over 27 vans and trucks, has achieved FORS Silver, Construction Line Silver, CLOCCS and holds an FSC certificate for the supply of timber and sheet material.
