When working on a building site having the correct raspatory system is a must. When it comes to selecting the correct mask for the job you will need to take into account what level of protection is that you need. The EN 149 regulations offer different levels of dust mask protection that are usually broken into three categories. For example, the FFP1 dust mask has a filter efficiency of 78%, the FFP2 dust mask has a filter efficiency of 92%, and the FFP3 mask has a filter efficiency of 98%.

An FFP1 Rated dust mask would be suitable for tasks such as sanding, drilling, cutting and general dust protection only. The FFP2 rated dust mask is suitable to protect against solid and liquid aerosols as well as moderate levels as dust and anti-virus protection. An FFP3 dust mask is suitable for protecting against higher levels and solid and liquid aerosol fumes. If you are handling hazardous powders, such a those found in the pharmaceutical industry then an FFP3 will also b suitable for those tasks.
